Get a group of parents together write a letter with these questions then submit it to your school board:

What proof of Prevention policies and training do they have? [denial of entry to a school]

Do they have a formal process for outside security walks every 15-30 minutes? [if the school has security guards make them show you the plan]

The U.S. Department of State has issued a Worldwide Alert on the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against U.S. citizens throughout the world.

Schools, sporting events, residential areas, business offices, hotels, restaurants, and places of worship should increase their security and U.S. citizens should be extremely careful both in the U.S. and abroad.

“The Department of State has issued this Worldwide Caution to update information on the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against U.S. citizens and interests throughout the world. U.S. citizens are reminded to maintain a high level of vigilance and to take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness.”

SCHOOLS OBSESSED WITH SECURITY EQUIPMENT

One of the great frustrations we at SERAPH have had in our work with securing school environments over the past 20 years is the obsession many school board members and school administrators have with security equipment such as cameras.

In this article we will set the record straight about security equipment; when is it useful and when it increases security problems?

After the Columbine massacre on April 20, 1999 the school spent an obscene amount of money on security equipment for the high school. Six months later a student walked through these systems with a loaded handgun. The school administrators didn’t understand school safety before April 20th and they had learned little after it. Human beings must manage other human beings!
