Broward County Public Schools

David Fleshler – South Florida Sun Sentinel

The Broward school district’s repeated, emphatic — and it turns out, false — statements that Nikolas Cruz had not been in a controversial disciplinary program fit a pattern of an institution on the defensive and under siege.

Facing significant legal and political exposure over the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the district has tried to keep information from the public and put out untrue and misleading statements, frustrating parents who say this is the time for maximum transparency.

5 Reasons Why Parkland Florida School Officials – Nikolas Cruz’s Family Are Liable

The Valentine’s Day massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School by Nikolas Cruz was initially blamed on poor response from the Broward County Sheriff’s Department and school security.

However, an investigation by the SERAPH School Safety team has found a much darker series of failures by adults in Cruz’s personal life and school life.

Question 1:

When did his adoptive parents know he had violence issues?

Answer: Cruz displayed signs he was deeply troubled even as a toddler. He threw a 4-month-old into a pool. The child was crawling on a back porch and Cruz who was 2 years old picked him up and threw him in.

Dale Yeager – a school safety expert for the White House and Congress – says that the recent school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Parkland Florida is indicative of the poor management that he sees as epidemic in U.S. schools.

Yeager who heads the SERAPH School Safety Research Team – a group tasked by the White House in 2000 to provide a semiannual report entitled THE STATE OF SCHOOL SAFETY IN AMERICAN SCHOOLS to Congress – says the lack of security training and management is at the heart of this crime.
