TRAVEL ALERT: Rebel Groups Fighting In Colombia Region Norte de Santander

Travel Alert

The governor of a province in north-eastern Colombia has declared a state of emergency over fighting between rival rebel groups.

William Villamizar, governor of Norte de Santander, said the measure was necessary to assist people displaced by the clashes.

He said about 1,000 families had fled the fighting and 4,000 children were unable to go to school.

The EPL and the ELN are fighting for control of a coca-growing region.

Much of the Catatumbo region on the border with Venezuela used to be under the influence of the Farc rebels.

TRAVEL ALERT: London Murder Rate Overtakes New York City

London Crime

A spike in violent crime in London saw more murders committed in the city in February and March than there were in New York, figures show.

So far in 2018, the Met Police has investigated 46 murders, compared with 50 in the US city.

But, while New York’s murder rate decreased from the end of January, London’s rose markedly from that point.

Ex-Met Police Ch Supt Leroy Logan says it is proof that “London’s violent traits have become a virus”.

Travel Safety

2017 and 2018 are making history with some of the highest murder rates in the island nation. Even the high end resorts of Jamaica have seen a dramatic increase in sex assaults on tourists.

The Prime Minister in January declared a state of emergency because of the increase in violent crime. SERAPH suggest not to travel to Jamaica until this crime wave is under control.

PARENTS: After Florida Shooting, More Than 600 Copycat Threats Have Targeted Schools

Parent Alert School Safety

Breathless and whispering through the phone, a 13-year-old student called for help from her Ohio high school.

“Help,” she said in between whimpers. “He’s got a gun. He’s got the gun in my mouth.”

Anxiety was already running high: It had been only a week after the deadly shooting in Parkland, Fla. Police dispatchers then got three other calls from Withrow University High School in Cincinnati.

But it was all a hoax.

5 Reasons Why Parkland Florida School Officials – Nikolas Cruz’s Family Are Liable

The Valentine’s Day massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School by Nikolas Cruz was initially blamed on poor response from the Broward County Sheriff’s Department and school security.

However, an investigation by the SERAPH School Safety team has found a much darker series of failures by adults in Cruz’s personal life and school life.

Question 1:

When did his adoptive parents know he had violence issues?

Answer: Cruz displayed signs he was deeply troubled even as a toddler. He threw a 4-month-old into a pool. The child was crawling on a back porch and Cruz who was 2 years old picked him up and threw him in.
