TRAVEL ALERT: Sweden Sends Out Leaflets On How To Prepare For War

Salmon balls, tea lights and wet wipes. These are just some of the things Sweden has advised every household to stock up on in the case of war.

Its government has sent leaflets to 4.7 million households explaining how to best prepare for various major crises.

These include terror and cyber-attacks, natural disasters, serious accidents and military conflicts.

Those who prepare improve “the ability of the country as a whole to cope with a major strain”, the booklet reads.

TRAVEL ALERT: Rebel Groups Fighting In Colombia Region Norte de Santander

The governor of a province in north-eastern Colombia has declared a state of emergency over fighting between rival rebel groups.

William Villamizar, governor of Norte de Santander, said the measure was necessary to assist people displaced by the clashes.

He said about 1,000 families had fled the fighting and 4,000 children were unable to go to school.

The EPL and the ELN are fighting for control of a coca-growing region.

Much of the Catatumbo region on the border with Venezuela used to be under the influence of the Farc rebels.

TRAVEL ALERT: London Murder Rate Overtakes New York City

London Crime

A spike in violent crime in London saw more murders committed in the city in February and March than there were in New York, figures show.

So far in 2018, the Met Police has investigated 46 murders, compared with 50 in the US city.

But, while New York’s murder rate decreased from the end of January, London’s rose markedly from that point.

Ex-Met Police Ch Supt Leroy Logan says it is proof that “London’s violent traits have become a virus”.

2017 and 2018 are making history with some of the highest murder rates in the island nation. Even the high end resorts of Jamaica have seen a dramatic increase in sex assaults on tourists. 

The Prime Minister in January declared a state of emergency because of the increase in violent crime. SERAPH suggest not to travel to Jamaica until this crime wave is under control.
